WHO TO CONTACT AT DAMMAM AIRPORTPassport control, help desks and lost property

Three organisations answer questions at King Fahd International Airport, and each owns a different part of the journey.

Passports and entry stamps belong to the General Directorate of Passports, the Ministry of Interior body residents call Jawazat. The terminal building is run by Dammam Airports Company, and so is anything left inside it. Bags are the airline’s, from check in until they reach the carousel.

Arrival · immigration before baggage

Where passport control sits in the sequence

Passport control comes before baggage at King Fahd International. Arriving passengers clear the passport desks first, collect bags from one of the two claim areas on the Arrivals level second, and meet the customs allowances last, on the way out. On departure the passport desks sit between check in and the gates, and the exit stamp is issued there.

The order decides where a missing bag gets reported. Airlines file the property irregularity report in the baggage hall, so report it at the airline’s desk before leaving. Travellers arriving on a visa issued on arrival pass through the same desks, which handle both jobs.

Border post · not a service branch

Is there a Jawazat office at the airport

King Fahd International is a designated port of entry, which in the Jawazat structure means it has its own passports directorate with officers working the arrival and departure counters. It is not a passports service branch.

The difference decides where a resident goes. Issuing or renewing an iqama, applying for an exit and re-entry permit, cancelling one, or arranging a final exit are residency transactions, and the Ministry of Interior moved them to Absher, its online platform. The Passports Directorate has publicly encouraged residents to use Absher rather than attend its offices, and the National Portal lists the permit service itself.

What happens at the airport is the crossing itself. An officer confirms the record and logs the departure or the entry.

Three desks · one per level

Information desks

Three information desks operate inside the terminal, one on the Boarding level, one on Arrivals and one on Departures. The airport places all three in the centre of their level, beside the escalators.

They are the first stop for anything the airport itself owns, including property left in the building. The airport does not publish hours for them, so the Passenger Relations number is the fallback.

Split by where, not by what

Lost property

Lost property splits by where the item was left, not by what it is.

The airline owns anything that was on the aircraft, from a phone in a seat pocket to a checked bag that never reached the carousel. Report both at the airline’s baggage desk on the Arrivals level.

The airport owns the rest of the building: gates, lounges, security trays, restaurants. Information desks take the first report, and the operator publishes its Lost and Found details separately for arrivals and for departures.

A taxi or a booked transfer is neither, and neither is a car hired at the terminal. The airport has no access to those vehicles. The booking reference or the receipt is what makes that report possible, which is the reason to keep it.

One line · two addresses

Numbers, email and postal address

The airport operator publishes one passenger telephone number and two email addresses.

No separate line is published for lost property, baggage or passport control. A baggage question reaches the airline faster than the airport, because the airline holds the file.

GACA · MATARAT · DACO

Who runs King Fahd International

Three bodies sit above the airport, which is why an enquiry sometimes gets passed along.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation, GACA, is the regulator and the owner. MATARAT Holding is the state company holding the airport assets. Dammam Airports Company, DACO, is the operator, and has run King Fahd International since 1 July 2017. Airport correspondence carries the daco.sa domain for that reason.

Last reviewed: August 2026. Telephone numbers, email addresses and desk locations are re-checked yearly against the operator’s own published details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the phone number for Dammam airport?

+966 13 883 4445 reaches Passenger Relations at King Fahd International Airport, and [email protected] handles written enquiries. Neither line tracks flights. A delayed departure, a schedule change or a booking question sits with the airline operating the flight, and the airport has no access to those records.

Is there a Jawazat office at King Fahd International Airport?

No. The passport desks handle the crossing and nothing else. Residency work has no counter here: iqama renewal, sponsorship transfer and permit applications run through Absher, or through an employer’s Muqeem account where a company files on behalf of its staff.

Can I get an exit and re-entry visa at Dammam airport?

No. An exit and re-entry permit has to exist on the record before the traveller reaches the airport, and no counter in the terminal issues one. The Passports Directorate publishes the current conditions and fees on its own site.

Does Dammam airport have a WhatsApp number?

No WhatsApp number is published for King Fahd International Airport. The operator lists one telephone line, +966 13 883 4445, two email addresses and a feedback form on its own site. The information desks inside the terminal handle anything that needs a person on the spot.

My bag did not arrive and I have already left the airport. What now?

The airline holds the file, not the airport. A report filed at the baggage desk produces a reference number, and every update afterwards runs through that reference with the carrier. Anyone who left the terminal without filing has to open the claim with the airline directly, and the airport cannot open it for them.

Is passport control at King Fahd Causeway the same as at the airport?

No. The causeway to Bahrain is a separate crossing with its own passports directorate, listed alongside the airport as one of the Eastern Province’s ports of entry. Clearance at one has no bearing on the other, and a hire car crossing to Bahrain brings vehicle rules that do not apply at the terminal.
